Review Ineligible PACC Codes for Juvenile Petition Set Aside

Posted by JIS Service Desk on June 2, 2023 at 3:47 PM

As part of an effort to identify eligible offenses to be set aside in your case management system, JIS will be requesting that each court review a few areas of critical data for accuracy. This will ensure that the correct charges are programmatically set aside, pursuant to MCL 712A.18t legislation. Additional information is included in the Juvenile Automatic Set Asides memo that was sent to courts in mid-May.

To assist with this ongoing process, JIS will be providing instructions to review areas of the case management systems. The first review is of PACC codes that are ineligible for set aside. The automatic set aside process conducted by JIS differs between Circuit and Juvenile courts. Unlike Circuit court, for Juvenile court, JIS will first identify all charges that cannot be automatically set aside. The linked instructions provided will pertain to Juvenile petitions only.

For instructions, please see Review Ineligible PACC Codes for Juvenile Petition Set Aside.

More steps will be needed in the future, so please watch for additional details. It is extremely important that you review all communications and follow the instructions promptly.

Please notify jis@courts.mi.gov when your PACC codes have been verified in preparation for further steps that will be undertaken at a later date.

If you have any questions about the review process, please direct them to JIS via the Self-Service Portal at servicedesk.courts.michigan.gov. For other questions regarding Automatic Set-Aside legislation or procedures, please contact SCAO directly.
