As part of an effort to identify eligible offenses to be set aside in your case management system, JIS will be requesting that each court review a few areas of critical data for accuracy. This will ensure that the correct charges are programmatically set aside, pursuant to MCL 712A.18t legislation. Additional information is included in the Juvenile Automatic Set Asides memo that was sent to courts in mid-May.

Previously, JIS requested courts verify PACC codes that are ineligible for set aside and send discrepancies to jis@courts.mi.gov. To ensure you are on track for the automated set aside process, please submit this data as soon as possible if you have not already.

More steps will be needed in the future, so please watch for additional details. It is extremely important that you review all communications and follow the instructions promptly to allow all appropriate charges to be automatically set aside.
