Dear Court User,

Beginning this week, to ensure that courts are prepared for upcoming Juvenile Clean Slate changes, JIS will begin the process of reviewing and identifying eligible charges to be set aside. Before the end of the year, courts will begin to see indicators within their case management applications that certain records have been set aside. However, please keep in mind that these records cannot be treated as set aside until December 30, 2023, when the Clean Slate legislation officially takes effect.

No action is required at this time. If you have any questions about the review process, please direct them to JIS via the Self-Service Portal at servicedesk.courts.michigan.gov. For other questions regarding Automatic Set-Aside legislation or procedures, please contact SCAO directly.
