Improved Communication for Pending Documents (Available to MiFILE DMS Courts)
We are making a few updates to pending documents in the MiFILE DMS to help improve overall visibility and communication to the filing community and reduce direct inquiries to the court.
-
Once a pending document is ultimately coded and accepted (an order, for example) the filer will receive an email notification update (as they do now), and the TrueFiling History of their original submission will be updated to include the finalized order. Previously, once a document was "pended" it was severed from the user's TrueFiling history and they could only retrieve these order from their email notifications - this update corrects that.
-
If the court decides to not sign the pending document, the court now has the ability to communicate that action/reasoning to the filer directly. Once "Delete" (or "reject" for an imported document) is selected, the familiar "rejection reasons" eform will appear. Users can select from those options, or, more likely, the "Other" option to communicate to the filer why the pending document (often a proposed order) is not being signed by the judge. Similar to above, once the pending document is rejected, the filer will receive an email notification and the TrueFiling History of their original submission will be updated to include the rejection status and reason communicated.
- Previously, once a document was indexed as a "pending document" the status in TrueFiling would update to "complete." This prompted many questions from filers. Going forward, the status will remain in a "paid" status until the document is in its final state (e.g., indexed as an order or rejected).

Added Date Picker when Entering Service Date
Some document catalog entries require you to enter a service date. This enhancement will surface a calendar "date picker" to make this entry easier to complete. This update also removes a bug where entering leading zeros might result in an unexpected date populating within the field.

Technical Updates
Update to the Tag User task and Return to Workflow task to ensure they are compatible with the OnBase web client.
Document Catalog Addition - Domestic Violence Screening (FOC 124) - Circuit Court
We have added a document catalog item for circuit courts, "Domestic Violence Screening - Confidential (FOC124)." This is an FOC-specific entry that, when indexed, does not write to the CMS and is not retained in the court's case file (but can be transmitted to the FOC).
Doc Code: FOC124
Description: Domestic Violence Screening - Confidential (FOC124)
Doc File Folder: Non-Record
Doc Type: CC - Not Filed
Confidential: Yes
Don't Send to Case File/CMS: YES
Stamping Options: RECEIVED
This configuration update was made in production on 9/3/2025.
