LT Printing Enhancements - All JIS MiFILE District Courts
The MiFILE DMS functionality for processing Landlord Tenant court mailing requests is receiving several enhancements!
- The mail fee item in the bundle will be set to pending accept by default. Users no longer need to open, save, or otherwise engage with this bundle item at all (though the item can still be rejected if necessary/appropriate). This update will occur for all district courts, regardless of their DMS solution.
- The "mail fee" page (a page courts are printing only to discard) no longer prints.
- The print quantity will automatically be identified! Users no longer need to adjust the print quantity based on the number of defendants. If there are three defendants, the system will print three packets-users just need to click print!
- Each document that is being printed will no longer temporarily popup in OnBase. The packet will now print without this odd user experience.
- New insert page! To assist with separating mailing packets, an insert page will be included for each defendant that needs a court mailing. That insert page will include the court address and the defendant's name and address. This page can be used with window mail envelopes to assist with the mailing process.
If you have feedback regarding the placement of the court or defendant address information on the insert page, please submit your feedback via the JIS Ideas Portal!
Adjusted Email Template for New OnBase Users - All JIS MiFILE Courts
When a new user is created in OnBase, that person receives an email with their temporary password. In that email template, we removed an unnecessary link to the Michigan Supreme Court's MiFILE website that is no longer available.
Additional Processing Queues for System Conversion Life Cycle - All JIS MiFILE Courts
This update is not visible to courts, but will help with system performance as receipts and proofs of enotice are processed in OnBase behind the scenes.
TrueFiling Enhancements
TrueFiling Filing Type Updates for Consistency - Certain filing types in TrueFiling have been named slightly differently across case types. To improve consistency, and simplify future bundle validation rules, some TrueFiling Filing Types are receiving minor updates. Filers should not notice any major differences in the filing experience. The filing types updated with this release include: ”Motion - (filed with another document that requires a filing fee)" and "Appeal from Circuit Court with Copy of Claim/Application."
Increase TrueFiling Database Size - This is a technical upgrade being done to ensure optimal system performance, especially as MiFILE adds more courts to the solution.
Please note, that most of the “bugs” and “enhancements” listed in this document do not require additional testing. This is intended for informational purposes only. All MiFILE Courts are considered Statewide Solution Courts except for the following:
Hosted Courts: Pilots are those courts using the Standard OnBase review queue but have their own version of TrueFiling (different filing types). Current courts are Oakland Circuit and Wayne Circuit
On-Premise: Pilots are those courts using both their own OnBase and their own version of TrueFiling. Current courts are Macomb Circuit, Ottawa Circuit and Grand Traverse/Leelanau/Antrim Circuit
Integrated Courts are those courts with full or partial CMS integration. Current courts are Wayne (full), Washtenaw (full), and Ottawa Probate (partial)
