Send Filer Communication with Accepted Filings
Courts can now send supplemental notes back to the filer even when accepting documents! The Unity Indexer now has an optional "Supplemental Comments to Filer" section at the bottom of the form. Anything typed into this field will be included in the accepted filing email template that is sent to the filer, and will be accessible in their TrueFiling history.

Here is what the new (optional) field looks like:

Complaint for Divorce Defaults to Confidential - Circuit Court
The "Complaint for Divorce" document catalog item will now be set to confidential by default. Pursuant to MCL 552.6a(1), "a complaint for divorce filed with the court shall not be made available to the public until the proof of service has been filed.

Please note that, for now, the complaint will need to be manually made public again when the proof of service has been filed with the court. To do that, when the proof of service is submitted:

  • Navigate to the Related Items tab from the bundle containing the proof of service,
  • Locate the complaint and double-click to open it,
  • Select the "Update Security Flags" system task (located on the Tasks tab in the system task drop down), and uncheck "confidential".
  • Return to the proof of service in your Inbox view and finish processing.
Please note that we are evaluating a follow up feature to this that would automatically make the complaint public again once the proof of service is filed on the case. Please keep watching these release notes for any updates.

Landlord-Tenant Bulk Filing
Please note that this functionality is being moved into production but is not yet enabled for filers. Courts will not experience any changes in behavior aside from seeing two new queues. These queues should not be used for custom routing or other purposes once made available. Please read on to learn more about this feature:

We are moving closer to offering the new bulk filing functionality for landlord-tenant cases in district courts. This functionality will allow large volume filers to submit their court filings more efficiently.

Court processing will work exactly the same as it does today: clerks will process each individual bundle as if it had come through TrueFiling separately. The main difference is that we have created two new queues for these bulk filing submissions to land:

  • New Case (Bulk Filing)
  • Clerk Review (Bulk Filing)
Our intent is to pilot this functionality with select courts prior to enabling it for everyone. Future release notes will indicate when this feature will be turned on forall district courts.

Fix: Unlock User Account that is Disabled after Five minutes
When a user gets locked out of OnBase for multiple failed password attempts, their account gets temporarily disabled; however, after five minutes, the user can try to log in again--without engaging with their OnBase administrator or submitting a support ticket.

There was a bug identified where user accounts weren't always unlocking automatically after five minutes. This update will fix that issue. If you think you may have entered the wrong password, give it five full minutes and try again. If you're still having access issues, please contact your OnBase administrator.
